About the Refit Excellence Awards
2018 Refit Excellence Awards Nominations Are Now Open
International yacht refit professionals will be recognized for their accomplishments through the first annual Refit Excellence Awards presented January 10, 2018, at Refit International Exhibition & Conference. The awards will be judged by an independent panel based on not only the finished yacht, but on the teamwork, problem-solving and efficacy of everyone involved in the refit, including the boatyard, captain, owner, designer, surveyor, and management.

Refit Excellence Categories
The Refit Excellence awards will recognize refits in the following categories:
- Best Sailing Yacht
- Best Power Yacht 50-100 feet
- Best Power Yacht Over 100 feet
- Best Accomplishment in Refit Excellence
Refit nominees and winners are selected by a team of judges assembled in fall 2017. Refit awards are given to the entire team of people involved in the refit process — boatyard, designer, and project management team are announced at the ceremony. Only one trophy is provided per category.
Rules & Regulations
In order to qualify for the 2018 Refit Excellence Awards, all nominated boats must be delivered to their owners between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017. Provided the individual is able to provide all required nomination information, any person may nominate any boat. There is no fee for nomination. Upon submitting the nomination form, an email confirmation will be sent to the person making the nomination.
When submitting a nomination, you’ll be asked to confirm that you have permission to publicize this vessel. That permission should include, but not be limited to, photography (interior and exterior), refit work list, vessel history, owner’s name or owner’s representative’s name, yacht name and hailing port.
Include a minimum of five (5) digital photographs of the boat prior to the refit and a minimum of five (5) digital photographs of the boat following the refit with your nomination. Files should be limited to 1 megabyte (MB) per photo. If your submission is selected as a nominee, we will contact you for press-quality photos. Upon uploading the photos, you grant full rights to Refit International Exhibition & Conference to use photos in any capacity.
